CASTLEMEADOW CARE Sponsor – Best Afternoon Tea Dr Sanjay Kaushal, managing director

“Norfolk produces a vast selection of food and drink which seems to be ever increasing, this in turn impacts the county through employment, our economy and tourism. Much of our produce and ingredients are perfect for our sponsored category, Best Afternoon Tea, which itself is massively growing in popularity across the region.

“Founded in 1999 Castlemeadow Care owns and operates care homes across Norfolk providing nursing, dementia and residential care. Woodgate Park Retirement Living is a spacious development of bungalows for people looking for their own independence whilst at the same time having the reassurance of additional support when needed. Celebrating 10 years this year Castlemeadow Care is a rapidly growing business with additional care homes and new retirement villages planned this year.

“In our care homes afternoon tea is always a popular event with our residents. Our chefs prepare a tasty selection of homemade cakes which always go down a treat and provide a great social experience. We are also proud to be a sponsor this year of a GoGo Hare in association with the charity Break.

“Being a Norfolk-based business we are very proud of our region and all it has to offers. For the third year we are delighted to be a sponsor for the awards and to recognise the talent that this region has to offer.”

EASTON AND OTLEY COLLEGE Sponsor – Field to Fork Jane Townsend, principal

“Norfolk and East Anglia is known as Britain’s bread basket, and it continues to be innovative in terms of the food and drink that it produces. It brings employment and tourism to the region and helps the county to grow, thrive and survive. What really makes it stand out is that a weekend of eating and drinking in Norfolk can see you go from an independent eatery to a Michelin star restaurant, via a country pub before retiring to the beautiful North Norfolk coastline for fish and chips by the sea.

“In previous years of sponsoring the Field to Fork award, we have witnessed million pound companies operating down country lanes and high quality food productions being run out of garden sheds. The appeal of supporting this category is based around the fact it mirrors our passion for food and farming, and it shines a light on some of the incredible unsung creativity that is happening right now in this wonderful part of the world.

“Food and farming is such a large part of our heritage and this event is like a regional version of the Oscars for those who are nominated. Therefore, we are keen to get involved to celebrate these efforts that play such a crucial role in sustaining our vibrant rural economy. It’s also a chance for us to say thanks to those working in this industry for the overwhelming support we receive from them every year.”

FOODCARE SYSTEMS Sponsor – Best Family Dining Barry Wells, managing director

“Norfolk’s most successful operators source as many products as possible on their menu from local farms that treat their produce with care and their animals well and use sustainable practices. These wonderful local establishments are committed to fostering a food culture that is rich in tradition and cultivates respect for one another and our community.

“Foodcare specialises in the supply of tableware and barware helping to design the perfect match between the menu, food presentation and the eating experience. We support customers from small cafés and village halls to gastro pubs, restaurants and hotels through to national operators such as the NHS, care homes and high street chains.

“For many young families, children have become an ever-increasing factor in co-selecting our dining choices as they naturally sense the feeling of being welcomed and respected. Successful operators understand that, by creating comfortable environments and delivering good family service, they help create strong and lasting positive memories.

“We are very proud to be serving the Norfolk community and wish to support the region’s richness of talent and resource. As a Norfolk grown business we are dedicated to the area’s economic, social and environmental development.
