The Mardler:

EDP Norfolk - - Inside -

A potpourri of items from the county

Lovers of glass art have a double treat in store in Norfolk this month. The Sainsbury Centre is staging a spectacular exhibition across the building exploring the stained glass of Brian Clarke

Clarke is celebrated as the greatest stained glass artist in the world today and the centrepiece of the exhibition will be 30 stained glass screens which the artist has produced over the last three years. In his career he has pushed the boundaries of stained glass both in terms of technology, and its poetic potential. His reputation is based on major installation projects all over the world, as well as individual works.

Meanwhile, at Riverside Art and Glass, Wroxham, The Contemporary Glass Society Eastern Hub is exhibiting works of glass art from a dozen talented artists, including Morag Reekie, Sue Purser Hope and Cathy Millington. Brian Clarke: The Art of Light runs until October 14 at the SCVA. CGS exhibition runs from July 11 to 25.
