WeFiFo – it sounds like an up­grade to your broad­band but is ac­tu­ally an in­ter­est­ing din­ing idea cur­rently do­ing the rounds.

Wefifo – We Find Food – de­scribes the con­cept thus: ‘WeFiFo con­nects home cooks, supper club hosts and food skills event or­gan­is­ers with din­ers in their lo­cal com­mu­nity.” EDP Nor­folk joined an as­sorted group of din­ers at an al fresco ‘se­cret supper club’, a col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween intu Chapelfiel­d and city bistro The Last Wine Bar in the not-so-se­cret open space at the en­trance to the mall in Nor­wich.

The Last Wine Bar was in charge of cater­ing and served the happy graz­ers with an ap­par­ently end­less sup­ply of canapes be­fore the main event.

Treacle cured smoked salmon with av­o­cado puree and pick­led cu­cum­ber was fol­lowed by exquisitel­y char­grilled short rib beef un­der a honey and mus­tard glaze and, for those who had room, a cheese­cake to con­clude. It was ac­com­pa­nied by a wine flight which your correspond­ent, hav­ing to drive home, could only en­joy in the tini­est of sips, but was clearly a first-class flight.

We thought it was a de­light­ful ex­pe­ri­ence, once we got past the very public lo­ca­tion, and the as­sem­bled guests con­curred.
