Salvia involucrata ‘Bethellii’

This striking tall growing Salvia from Mexico is an excellent trouble-free choice for the middle or back of a border. Its colourful red stems grow to around 1.5m and are topped by bright vibrant pink flowers from July until the first frosts. It requires a little staking to keep it from flopping, or alternatively grow through other plants for support. ‘Bethellii’ grows best in full sun or part shade often getting frosted back to the ground in the winter, but reliably regrows in spring.
