THE PERFECT PINT

EDP Norfolk - - NORFOLK CHRISTMAS - norfolkbrewhouse.co.uk

we are lucky to have a huge choice of excellent local beers to sample – covering pretty much every taste. At The Norfolk Brewhouse at Hindringham, which won the Field to Fork award, sponsored by Easton and Otley College, their passion for beer has seen them win countless awards.

Owner David Holliday says Christmas is the perfect time to try some different local beers, many of which have rich, deep flavours which make an ideal match with festive foods.

“All of our Moon Gazer beers use Norfolk Maris Otter barley so you can enjoy a true taste of Norfolk this Christmas. For that pre-lunch tipple we would suggest something light, such as DewHopper Norfolk Lager, which has a refreshing citrus aroma and flavour and its light, dry, crispness will stimulate the palate without being overpowering. As for the main event we would always suggest an ale. Moon Gazer Norfolk Pale Ale is an amber-coloured bitter with a fruit hoppiness but also a malty backbone which will complement the turkey perfectly.

“As the evening progresses and it’s time for cheese in front of the fire, choose a rich, complex dark beer. Moon Gazer Winter Porter uses chocolate malts along with coriander and orange to offer an array of flavours to delight the palate – it’s an ale which will complement cheeses as perfectly as a good port.”
