Owners: Simon and Rosemarie James. Property: Former gamekeeper’s cottage. Built: 1800s Location: South Raynham Bought: 2017 Moved in: 2017
Simon owns and runs a national town planning, architecture/design and infrastructure engineering consultancy and Rosemarie is a primary school head in Northamptonshire.
room: The living room is our favourite. It has a Georgian, symmetrical feel to it, so unusual for a cottage. We like the fire in winter and in summer all the windows open on to the garden.
The Victorian style radiators as we feel they are works of art in themselves.
Favourite interiors shop:
Birdie Fortescue’s interior shop in Burnham.
Favourite part of the county:
A long walk on Brancaster Beach or maybe Thornham Marshes.
Favourite day out:
Here! Its really charming, with unspoiled countryside and quite often we see deer, hares and a variety of birds of prey. What I like is the peace away from the hustle of the coast, although we are only 20 minutes from the sea.
Favourite waste of time:
Looking for ideas in Interior design magazines.
Walking our dog Harry, up the quiet lane, that leads to the church, then onto Raynham village and around back home.
A trip we like is lunch at The Duck at Stanhoe.
