A record-break­ing 155 films will be screened, plus talks, Q&As and a char­ity launch. Hear ac­tor David Mor­ris­sey in con­ver­sa­tion with film critic Peter Brad­shaw at the fes­ti­val launch at OPEN, Nor­wich, on Novem­ber 4.

On Novem­ber 10 a gala screen­ing of Snow­piercer, star­ring Sir John Hurt, will be fol­lowed by a Q&A with his widow, An­wen, Lady Hurt, and Mark Ker­mode. Lady Hurt said: “It is a very ap­pro­pri­ate way to hon­our John’s mem­ory and to launch the Sir John Hurt Film Trust, which will con­tinue the work which John was pas­sion­ate about, pro­mot­ing great cin­ema in his adopted county.”

The fes­ti­val also in­cludes an­i­mated shorts for kids, re­gional pre­mieres, events with in­dus­try stars and and Al­fred Hitch­cock’s silent masterpiec­e The Lodger, screened with a live pi­ano ac­com­pa­ni­ment.
