Bring the fam­ily and en­joy an evening of fes­tiv­i­ties. The fun starts at 4pm, with games, crafts, street food, en­ter­tain­ment, an ap­pear­ance from Santa and a Christ­mas mar­ket. At 6.30pm, ITV weather man Chris Page starts the count­down for the big switch on. 4pm – 8pm.

THET­FORD, Novem­ber 29 – De­cem­ber 1

En­joy a week­end of fes­tive fun in Thet­ford start­ing with the Christ­mas lights be­ing il­lu­mi­nated on Fri­day 29, from 4pm to 7.30pm, then the Win­ter Won­der­land cel­e­bra­tions con­tinue over the week­end with live mu­sic, fair­ground rides, stalls, chil­dren’s en­ter­tain­ment, food, drink, a chance to spot Santa and plenty more. On Sun­day, De­cem­ber 1, the Thet­ford Win­ter Won­der­land 5km Santa Run is at 10am – money raised goes to lo­cal char­i­ties, fancy dress is en­cour­aged! thet­ford­town­coun­cil.gov.uk.

DOWN­HAM MAR­KET, Novem­ber 24

Gather in the town square from 2pm to soak up the fes­tive at­mos­phere with en­ter­tain­ment, food and drink, a craft fair and much more, as ev­ery­one waits for dark­ness to fall and the count­down to the big Christ­mas light switch on be­gins.

NOR­WICH, Novem­ber 14

The city’s streets come to a stand­still for what has be­come one of the big­gest events on the cal­en­dar. Watch as Nor­wich sparkles and shines against the win­try night sky with the big Christ­mas light switch on at City Hall at 7pm. Thou­sands of peo­ple gather to join in the cel­e­bra­tions, with live mu­sic, street en­ter­tain­ment, the ar­rival of Santa, food and drink, fire­works and plenty of sur­prises, so get there early. Head to Nor­wich Mar­ket Stall Sir Toby’s Beers, the city’s small­est bar, for a glass of warm­ing Gluh­wein, be­fore watch­ing the ever pop­u­lar Tun­nel of Light be­come il­lu­mi­nated for the first time.

GREAT YARMOUTH, Novem­ber 29

Christ­mas in Great Yarmouth of­fi­cially starts on Novem­ber 29, when the fes­tive lights are turned on in the mar­ket place at 7pm with a lit­tle bit of help from Santa. There will be en­ter­tain­ment through­out the evening, and it marks the start of the an­nual Great Yarmouth Christ­mas Fayre. Fes­tiv­i­ties be­gin at 5pm and will end with a rooftop fire­work dis­play after the big switch-on. gyta.com

GORLESTON, Novem­ber 24

Gorleston High Street’s Christ­mas lights will be switched on at 5pm, fol­lowed by a grand fire­works dis­play at 6pm. Visit Santa in his grotto, en­joy fun rides and at­trac­tions and soak up the at­mos­phere with fes­tive food and drink. gyta.com

NORTH WAL­SHAM, Novem­ber 30

Thanks to a small team of vol­un­teers the mar­ket town of North Wal­sham will once again

be il­lu­mi­nated with twin­kling lights and a fes­tive glow. There will be en­ter­tain­ment, stalls and food and drink through­out the af­ter­noon be­fore the lights are switched on at 6pm.

HOLT, Novem­ber 13

The Ge­or­gian mar­ket town is trans­formed into a mag­i­cal win­try won­der­land with the an­nual Christ­mas light switch on. Thou­sands of fairy lights il­lu­mi­nate the his­toric build­ings, around win­dows, gables and roofs and in the trees. The big turn on is at 6.30pm. En­joy shop­ping, food and drink and plenty of en­ter­tain­ment.

BURN­HAM MAR­KET, Novem­ber 23

Burn­ham Mar­ket’s vil­lage green and sur­round­ing shops are trans­formed by pretty fes­tive lights cre­at­ing a mag­i­cal scene. En­joy tra­di­tional rides and en­ter­tain­ment, shop­ping, mar­ket stalls, carol singing, mulled wine and a visit from Santa.

CROMER, Novem­ber 30

There will be fes­tive cel­e­bra­tions across five days in Cromer, with a Christ­mas Tree and Na­tiv­ity Fes­ti­val, mar­ket stalls, en­ter­tain­ment and the Chtist­mas light turn on, on Satur­day Novem­ber 30. Take part in the North Lodge Park Torch­light Pro­ces­sion at 4.30pm ahead of the grand switch on in the town cen­tre. There will be torches and chil­dren’s can­dles on sale through­out the day at Cromer church, be­fore ev­ery­one gath­ers in North Lodge Park, out­side the Cromer Town Coun­cil of­fice.

DISS, Novem­ber 23.

En­joy Christ­mas shop­ping, en­ter­tain­ment and fes­tive food and drink as part of the grand switch-on of the town’s lights in the Mar­ket Place at 5.15pm. A brightly lit vin­tage fire en­gine from Bress­ing­ham Steam Mu­seum will de­liver Santa along Mere Street to the Diss Mar­ket Place ready for the il­lu­mi­na­tion, who will be joined by the Diss Corn Hall panto cast. There will be en­ter­tain­ment from ma­gi­cian Ali Shazam, live mu­sic and a fair at Mere Mouth. 2.30pm- 6pm.
