The heart of Hygge in Norfolk…
I thas already been a busy start to 2020 for the team at Home Stagers and we have certainly hit the ground running! We have multiple and diverse design projects that are in production and we have also expanded the business with a new design studio and workspace. With this growth, come new exciting opportunities that we are currently working on and will keep you updated!
Our showcase property this month is of two new build houses in the village of Binham in North Norfolk. Installed just before Christmas, the properties have beautiful, unusual details, which lend themselves to a Scandi, country feel. We therefore designed them with the increasingly popular Nordic philosophy of ‘hygge’ in mind, especially as we are now in the colder winter months and are looking for that sense of warmth and cosiness within our homes. When designing our show houses, we like to embrace the architectural details that are found within the property and work to enhance these through our choice of furniture and styling.
Adding simple rustic elements, such as the large wooden dining table and our stunning spice drawer unit, enhances the beautiful flagstone flooring within the four bedroom house. We would definitely like to sit and relax in the leather sling chairs and enjoy a cup of tea! In the three bedroom house, the exposed white brickwork lends itself to adding a hint of an industrial element so we have used our huge metal clock, black wooden table and Eames chairs in the dining area in order to reflect this style. A simple, paired back colour scheme and using natural tones and materials is at the heart of Hygge design so by using layers of textures and materials in the design such as wood, wicker, sheepskins and ceramics, a warm and cosy feel is achieved.
