Lanserring’s outstanding kitchens are the result of a brilliant partnership. Notting Hillbased architects Andrew Hays and Kim Kovac deliver an ‘anything’s possible’ approach (they have created stage sets for the Royal Opera House, after all) and cookspace know-how (Hays has worked for kitchen brands Poggenpohl and Smallbone). The duo teamed up with Bernd and Joan Radaschitz (the fourth generation to run their family’s joinery workshop in rural Austria), whose craftmanship makes the designs possible.

The brand’s style? ‘ We’re versatile, there’s no set look,’ Hays muses. ‘ We might create a cleanerlined take on a traditional kitchen, perhaps with geometric gold fixtures, or bring warmth to the more Germanic, minimalist style, with colour and natural materials.’ Although Lanserring’s output is state of the art, it’s not elitist. ‘Likefor-like, our kitchens come in at a lower price point than the big, top-end brands,’ Hays points out. ‘Plus, being bespoke, they fit any space like a glove.’ And, for all their blue-sky thinking, the team has a ‘no job too small’ philosophy: ‘Oh yes! We can do you a nice shelf,’ adds Hays. Kitchens from £50,000 (
