This month, to cel­e­brate the 40th an­niver­sary of the open­ing of the Sains­bury Cen­tre for Vis­ual Arts in Nor­wich ( left) – the first pub­lic com­mis­sion by renowned Bri­tish ar­chi­tect Sir Nor­man Foster – the venue will host a ma­jor new ex­hi­bi­tion on pi­o­neer­ing su­per­struc­tures (it­self in­cluded). Ded­i­cated to the con­ven­tion-chal­leng­ing ar­chi­tec­ture that emerged in the post-war years, ‘Su­per­struc­tures: The New Ar­chi­tec­ture 1960–1990’ will ex­am­ine the ar­chi­tects, from Sir Richard Rogers and Ni­cholas Grimshaw to Renzo Pi­ano, who brought the in­dus­trial-style move­ment to the world. 24 March – 2 Septem­ber (
