LA STORY
Architect Craig Ellwood has been credited as the ‘Cary Grant of architecture’, and was one of the most recognisable faces of California’s Mid-century Modern movement. Making LA Modern: Craig Ellwood (£50, Rizzoli) is a photographic exploration of Ellwood’s glamorous career, looking at the ‘Playboy architecture’ he created during the 1950s and 60s – elegant buildings suggesting a casual, easy lifestyle that turned the dream of indoor/ outdoor living into a reality.
