The London-based furniture studio’s new collection is its dreamiest yet
The London-based furniture studio’s new collection of bedroom furniture is a dream come true
Known for its fine craftsmanship and simple, elegant design, British firm Pinch has launched its first bedroom collection. Our favourite pieces include the ‘Moreau’ bed (from £3,050), with its gently sculpted, upholstered headboard, and the ‘Elan’ armoire (from £8,450). The latter takes a modern approach to marquetry, with three soft colours of silky birch veneer cut into delicate, graceful shapes that decorate the exterior. Inside, there are no metal fixings in sight – instead, the wardrobe features a simple ladder system, each shelf seamlessly slotting into place.
‘ We wanted to create pieces with a stronger look than perhaps we’re known for,’ says Pinch’s co-founder Oona Bannon. ‘Traditional marquetry can be quite intense, so designing on a more generous scale and bringing in the warmth of the material was important.’ The pieces work well either on their own or combined to create a modern, yet comforting bedroom scheme (pinchdesign.com).
