A Scandinavian take on shape and a palette of contemporary materials are the two ideas that form the backbone of David Thulstrup’s pared-back interiors ( he often posts his latest moodboards on social media). The designer, who worked for Jean Nouvel and Peter Marino before setting up his studio in 2009, also puts an emphasis on what the Danish call stedsans (it translates as the idea of a sense of place) and how that affects interiors. Residential projects include the home of photographer Peter Krasilnikoff (above), built around a mirrored atrium. This year, Thulstrup also completed the interior of the new Noma restaurant. studiodavidthul
