The first of a fam­ily of nine sculp­tural kiosks, de­signed by award-win­ning ar­chi­tec­ture and de­sign prac­tice Mizzi Stu­dio to house an out­post of ar­ti­san café brand Colicci, has opened its shut­ters at Lon­don’s Ritz Cor­ner in Green Park. The cur­va­ceous de­sign ( left) is clad in steam-bent sus­tain­able oak, pro­duced in col­lab­o­ra­tion with artist Tom Raffield. Struc­tures yet to be built in­clude the Horse Shoe Bend in St James’s Park, which will be cov­ered in tubu­lar brass to mir­ror the metal on the The Queen Vic­to­ria Me­mo­rial, and a café on Hyde Park’s Ser­pen­tine Bridge, with a sweep­ing roof that stu­dio founder Jonathan Mizzi de­scribes as a ‘st­ingray smile’ (
