NURTURING TALENT
Brighton is now home to a co-working space with a difference. Plus X Brighton is a workplace for budding designers, inventors and entrepreneurs, so, as well as offices, it lists a host of exciting facilities. There’s a wet laboratory, where local innovator and James Dyson Award-winner Lucy Hughes has been developing her biodegradable alternative to single-use plastic. There’s also a ‘3D printing farm’, a heavy-duty maker space, webcasting studios and a materials library. To top it all off, the building, designed by architects Studio Egret West, is one of the most sustainable office developments in the UK. It looks set to become a nesting ground for a whole new generation of talent (plusx. space; studioegretwest.com).
