Chef Yotam Ottolenghi’s test kitchen gets a Studiomama makeover and the stunning conversion of a London fire station, plus Capri’s spectacular Casa Malaparte
When famed chef Yotam Ottolenghi asked Studiomama designers
Nina Tolstrup and Jack Mama to overhaul his test kitchen, he ended up with a lot more than he bargained for. Once a nondescript industrial unit under a railway arch, now the space features colourful furnishings, wooden surfaces and playful, curved details, mostly created using recycled elements and off-the-shelf materials. Designed to be as adaptable as possible, these new additions allow the space to double as a photography studio, library and workspace. ‘Simply being in the room is now a joy,’ says Ottolenghi (studiomama.com).
