THE TOGETHER PROJECT
A breath of fresh air, this new platform unites genuinely sustainable design brands, and supports those wanting to achieve more
Sustainable design is about more than materials or recycling, but the term is so often misused or added as a greenwashfuelled afterthought. New platform The Together Project aims to put an end to that, deep-diving into sustainability in the design industry like nothing before it. A hub of positivity and change, it brings together stories, educational resources and a marketplace, so people can make informed choices about what they buy and how it affects both the planet and its people. Brands have been selected based on their social, environmental and cultural responsibilities; highlights include Viso Project’s tapestry blankets made by US artisans, Golden Editions’ hand-woven lights made from Ghanaian grass and sculptural creations from heritage Japanese maker Takazawa Candle. What’s more, the project will actively support brands wanting to become more socially and environmentally responsible: ‘We have created a really strong checklist to see what brands and designers are doing well and where they need to improve, as well as a code of conduct which we are continually working on,’ explains founder and interior design consultant Amanda Talbot. thetogetherproject.co
