BUILDING THE FUTURE
Proving digital innovation and traditional craftsmanship can both be part of the future of construction, students at the Bartlett’s Material Architecture Lab worked with London architecture studio Piercy&Company to create Code Bothy, a complex brick structure built using augmented reality. The specific tolerances of the bricks were calculated with parametric modelling tools, then assembled by a bricklayer guided by an AR headset (m-a-l.org; piercyandco.com).
