THROWING SHAPES
Hailing from a long line of potters, Jonathan Openshaw was perhaps destined for clay. A love of classical ceramics was further fuelled by studies in archaeology and anthropology at the University of Cambridge, and a recent trip to Pompeii led to the launch of his collection of striking amphora and urns. Combining classical proportions with bold, brutalist forms, pieces are subtly glazed to give the feel of ‘contemporary artefacts’, says the designer. From
