Over the years there have been many attempts by tech experts and interior designers to disguise TVs, whether it be by turning them into works of art or building them into cabinets. Until now, though, nobody has been able to make them disappear. LG’s new ‘OLED R’ does just that. Thanks to self-lit pixels that don’t require a backlight, this screen is so thin it can be rolled up, retreating into a discreet box, which also houses a soundbar. Set it to one of three modes – ‘Full’ for normal viewing, ‘Line’ mode, which displays your dashboard (clock, photo slideshow, music controls, etc) or ‘Zero’, a full vanishing act.
