MA YANSONG
‘My design aims to capture the moment when “Medallion” passes through time, transitioning from the past into the future,’ explains the founder of Beijing architecture firm MAD. His time-travelling interpretation of Dior’s icon is 3D-printed from polyurethane and then hand-painted. The result is true to the architect’s approach to design, which often sees him imagining a dream-like expression of the future; utopian visions where the natural and the man-made exist in ‘harmonic synergy’. ‘I wanted to be able to capture the essence of Dior and MAD’s sense of imagination,’ he adds. i-mad.com
