MAKE-UP has yet to CATCH UP

-

I’m going to be honest: most of the foundations, concealers and blushers I’ve tried made me look like a mime artist – pigments were chalky, textures were thick and, once in place, many didn’t blend well. ‘It’s difficult to replicate that silicone slip, because you need the perfect ratio of waxes to oils,’ explains cosmetic company founder Kjaer Weis. A few brands have found a way: Weis, for example, uses sweet almond-seed oil to give her foundation, £51, a texture that glides on smoothly and stays put. Organic pioneer Tata Harper has also found the perfect balance, using a blend of botanical waxes that melt when warmed against your skin to aid the blendability of her Lip and Cheek Tint, £34, which gives a healthy flush of colour.
