OFFICE UP-AND-COMER
the LOOK
From entry-level to managerial, those of us based in an office have historically been expected to look smart. Cue the uncertainty klaxon: am I overdressed or underdressed? Heels or flats? What will help me get the job done? You can’t go wrong with soft tailoring and a low heel. Remember pre-Into-the-Gloss ‘super-intern’ Emily Weiss? Erica Wright, an international PR manager and consultant, is also a great pin-up.
how I DO IT
‘I always buy pieces that I think are trans-seasonal and made to last (white or black basic oversized shirts, which I have about a hundred of). My wardrobe is mostly made up of monochrome. For me, the fun is in the shoes, and I add lighter tones or a hint of colour with my outerwear. If you try new prints or colours, I think it’s important that they’re practical and multi-purpose, and aren’t a “one-time” wear.’ – Erica Wright
