Compared to the talons of earlier decades, nails went neater in the Noughties. The white-tipped French manicure hit its peak around 2OO1 but lost favour due to the rise of pretty nail art. For most though, the era was about the classic nail: neat, gently rounded, in a spectrum of sophisticated shades, from pinky nudes to deep plums.
