Get ready for...
DANCE FEVER THIS MONTH, IT TAKES CENTRE STAGE, WITH POWERFUL FILMS AND AN EXHIBITION SET TO GET YOU MOVING
First up, get the popcorn ready for new movie Ema (out 17 April).
It’s Step Up meets We Need To Talk About Kevin: a dark, reggaetonpowered tale of young dancer Ema (Di Girolamo), who is caught in a toxic marriage to older choreographer Gastón (Gael García Bernal) and on a mission to get back her adopted son. Also on the big screen, Cunningham (out now) takes us on an journey through choreographer Merce Cunningham’s 7O-year career. The creator of more than 18O dances, he was undoubtedly the single greatest influence on contemporary dance. Meanwhile, at London’s Design Museum, get your body moving as Electronic (on until 26 July) takes you to the dance floors of Detroit, Paris, Berlin and the UK. Discover how electronic music transformed from an underground movement to global phenomenon through the 3D Kraftwerk experience (which is like a genuine club night), a sound reactive visual installation, graphics from Peter Saville CBE, iconic DJ masks, fashion and a genre-spanning soundtrack by French DJ and producer Laurent Garnier.
