DITTE REFFSTRUP, FOUNDER OF GANNI, SHARES THE HIDDEN GEMS AND SIGHTS TO SEE AND SAVOUR IN HER DANISH NATIVE CITY
BOUTIQUE BUYS Holly Golightly is an institution in Copenhagen. It’s filled with art from the owner’s travels, mixing labels – such as Marni, Dries van Noten and vintage Chanel – with knitwear and jewellery. It’s very artsy and inspiring. The Apartment is owned by Tina Seidenfaden Busck, who used to work at Sotheby’s. It’s one of my favourite interior spaces, full of colour and prints.
CLASSIC STYLE Jerome Vintage is a fabulous shop. Upstairs, you’ll find luxury brands, while downstairs is more denim and T-shirts. It’s very curated, so you won’t get lost. Time’s Up Vintage is also a must-see; it’s like a treasure box.
MARKET PLACE Torvehallerne is like Borough Market in London. I go for coffee and breakfast, or for groceries from the farmers’ market, or to pick up flowers and to meet friends for wine in the evening. Most types of cuisine are found there. I love Ma Poule, a French place great for a confit de canard baguette, and taco bar Hija de Sanchez.
SANDWICH STOP For lunch, I always return to Lumskebuksen. It’s very old school, and a lovely place to sit outside on a crisp, sunny day. I order the shrimp and potato open sandwich.
WELL READ Thiemers Magasin is a cute, curated bookstore that hosts intimate evenings to meet authors, drink wine and get your book signed. It’s really cosy.
FASHIONABLE CULTURE Kunsthal Charlottenborg has a mix of classic and contemporary art near Charlottenborg Palace. It’s where the Danish women’s art movement kicked off in the Seventies. Go there for exhibitions, then hang out in the courtyard. It’s near Frederik Bille Brahe’s Apollo Bar – one of the best in Copenhagen – so it’s very much a party. Ganni: Gimmie More by Ana Kras is out 5 October
