Highlighting key business opportunities emerging in Kuwait’s alternative energy market

-

IN RECENT YEARS, renewable energy has moved onto the developmental agenda in Kuwait, amid a need for a diversification of energy resources, climate change concerns and greater public awareness. Green energy development in Kuwait has also received impetus through the widespread availability of solar and wind resources and tumbling costs of alternative energy systems.

With increased potential in the renewable energy sector, the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) along with the Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) has launched a strategic sustainability initiative that seeks to generate 2,000MW of renewable energy by 203o. Kuwait recently also announced a plan to produce 15 percent of its total energy needs from renewable energy in the next 15 years, as part of a national strategy that will support its ongoing economic development initiatives. In the light of these developments, White Paper Summits is proud to host the Kuwait Sustainable Energy and Technology Summit, with a focus on discussing current market trends, technological advancements and future challenges in renewable energy and sustainable development. Bringing together more than ioo leading industry experts along with senior representatives from government authorities and research institutes, the programme will provide valuable insights on Renewable Energy Projects, and RE Technologies Development. The summit will combine insightful panels led by key regional and international experts representing organisations such as the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), the GCC Interconnection Authority, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, Saudi Aramco, and Kuwait Oil Company. The programme will feature visionary keynotes, case studies, panel discussions and technology solutions from key players in the renewables domain.
