As 2019 gets into full swing, enterprises across all industries are beginning to put into place their plans to build on the year just gone, be it expansion, diversification, investment in technology or other pressing priorities.

For British aerospace giant Cobham Plc, a major target for the coming months is to join up its enormous portfolio of expertise and present itself as a multifaceted company specialising in addressing problems in challenging environments, from land and sea to air and outer space.

Helping to communicate this message is Air Marshal Greg Bagwell CB CBE, Cobham’s Executive Vice President of Business Development and 36-year Royal Air Force stalwart.

Speaking to us from the company’s base in Marlow, UK, he recalled: “The company fascinated me. I knew a little about what they did with the air force but that was less than 10 percent of the bigger picture – I had no real appreciation for how broad Cobham is. I knew about its excellent reputation for delivery, especially from my experience as a customer, so maybe it was fate that I ended up here.”

To find out more about Bagwell’s journey from military into commercial, and his plans for Cobham, don’t miss our exclusive feature.

Aerospace forms a running theme for this issue, with Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries CEO Ali Al Ashban detailing how the company is lifting KSA’S industry to new levels. Key partner BSB Aviation is also featured, alongside a fascinating discussion with former Israeli pilot Meir Moalem, who talks to Jonathan Dyble about his new venture Sky and Space Global.

Another industry reliant on high performance engineering is the automotive sector, one which is proudly served by Ricardo Performance Products, a business which continues to push the boundaries of what is possible. Other insights this issue cover a wide range of topics, from data centres and luxury property in Dubai to the upcoming Six Nations rugby tournament and containerised transport.
