WE HAVE THE HIGH GROUND
In response to your Star Wars Top Ten, I’m a little dismayed at the bashing the prequels seem to get. Surely the tale of a cute child (Anakin) turning into a ruthless middle manager (Vader) has value! All that talk about trade, war and politics was a bit taxing, but wasn’t that the point? Ranking Episodes IV to VI top may be nostalgia. Feelings are more potent when you’re young because they’re unprecedented.
GOURANGA GUPTA, VIA EMAIL Unsurprisingly, our Star Wars Ranking proved contentious— for many of you, it proved coarse, rough and irritating, and it got everywhere (specifically, pages 120-121).
