The next SW films are far, far away

After 2019’s The Rise Of Skywalker, there’ll be a three-year Star Wars silence: the “pause and reset” promised by Disney CEO Bob Iger. This will end Christmas 2022, with a new David Benioff and D.B. Weiss instalment: the first of a trilogy, likely continuing through the 2024 and 2026 releases in the now-regular Christmas slot. There’s no word on the setting — but Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy has hinted they’ll explore the Knights Of The Old Republic era, which would be amazing.
