IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946)

When Clarence the angel turns up on the bridge... It just makes me appreciate what I’ve got and look at life in a different perspective.

THE DEER HUNTER (1978)

It’s the bit where Mike goes back to Vietnam to look for Nick and sees him playing Russian roulette. You can see there’s no way back from where he is.

TOY STORY 3 (2010)

All the family went to see it. And when the toys were getting pulled down on the conveyor belt... you looked down the line and we were all crying.

KRAMER VS. KRAMER (1979)

A complete tearjerker for me. Dustin Hoffman was impeccable, a beautiful performance.

HAMILTON (2020)

What intelligent writing. I’m a big rap fan. [Spoiler alert!] When the son dies, I was in bits, man.

THE CHAMP (1979)

You have to have a heart of iron if you don’t cry at the blond kid crying, “Don’t die, Champ, don’t die!”

THE COLOR PURPLE (1985)

I was immersed in this woman’s journey. I think it was Oprah Winfrey fighting back that got me.

THE JUNGLE BOOK (1967)

I saw it in a local cinema in Kirby. I fell in love with that moment where Mowgli chooses the Man Village and Baloo and Bagheera decide to go home.

KES (1969)

This kid from a deprived background with no possibilities of escaping resonated so much. I remember watching it in an English class and hiding myself because I was crying.

WATERSHIP DOWN (1978)

I remember sobbing and my mum going, “It’s okay.” It was carnage.
