Given what Soho House has become, it is hard to remember that it started as an actual house. In Soho. In 1995, Nick Jones was offered a space above his Café Boheme on the corner of Greek Street in London. As the door was too small for it to be a restaurant, he decided to turn it into a private members’ club. “I wanted to create somewhere where a creative soul is valued more than anything else; a relaxed, ‘home-from-home’ environment,” Jones, 53, tells Esquire. “I didn’t know if there was going to be a market there.
