CBD chocolates — that last one suggested as a Mother’s Day gift on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop website — you might argue that we’d now reached peak CBD. Except that peaking on CBD is impossible — it being the non-psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. Cannabis that doesn’t get you high (CBD is thought to ease pain and anxiety) is about as much use to most of us as an ashtray on a motorbike. So the next time someone drones on about the magical properties of their CBD oil or supplement or vaping juice, we suggest you point them in the direction of the nearest public house — we find a quiet pint far more effective, with less of the showing off.
