CBD choco­lates — that last one sug­gested as a Mother’s Day gift on Gwyneth Pal­trow’s Goop web­site — you might ar­gue that we’d now reached peak CBD. Ex­cept that peak­ing on CBD is im­pos­si­ble — it be­ing the non-psy­choac­tive in­gre­di­ent in mar­i­juana. Cannabis that doesn’t get you high (CBD is thought to ease pain and anx­i­ety) is about as much use to most of us as an ash­tray on a mo­tor­bike. So the next time some­one drones on about the mag­i­cal prop­er­ties of their CBD oil or sup­ple­ment or va­p­ing juice, we sug­gest you point them in the di­rec­tion of the near­est pub­lic house — we find a quiet pint far more ef­fec­tive, with less of the show­ing off.
