Refresh your coffee table

-

So you’ve got a life, a house, possibly a domestic partner? Maybe you even have a coffee table, but what to put on it? May we recommend some books, three to be specific: first up is

Oliver Peoples: California As We See It, published by Assouline (£60) on 1 March 2019. The 240-page hardcover offers a sepia-tinted visual journey through the brand’s history, along with 100 pages of beautiful imagery of Los Angeles and California proper. This is how Oliver Peoples sees it, and it looks lovely. Next, we have Travellers’ Tales: Bags Unpacked, by Bertil Scali, Pierre Le-Tan and Louis Vuitton, out now from Thames & Hudson (£75). It features more than 50 charmingly illustrated essays recounting some of the most memorable journeys undertaken in the modern era, from Hemingway to Hepburn, and the trusty LV luggage that proved a common denominator through all of them. Finally, trainers. Sure, you like them, but how much do you really know about them? Enter Sneaker Freaker: The Ultimate Sneaker Book! by written by Simon Wood and published by Taschen (£40) and also on sale now. A 15-yearanthology of the cult magazine Sneaker Freaker, it also acts as a 650-page bible on all things in trainer culture. You’ll be a card-carrying, overnight-queuing hypebeast in no time at all.
