Ev­ery house needs a room in which to watch live sport, and the LG SIG­NA­TURE Clubhouse proved to be a lot more than just that, beam­ing in games in Ul­tra HD from across the globe, as well as also host­ing some spe­cially-themed talks. On Town­house’s open­ing night, Thurs­day 11 Oc­to­ber, the Clubhouse wel­comed a spe­cial live record­ing of the Flats and Shanks pod­cast — self-de­scribed as “a pod­cast about lots of semi-in­ter­est­ing stuff, mainly rugby” — hosted by for­mer play­ers David Flat­man and Tom Shanklin, with spe­cial guest, ac­tor, co­me­dian and sports fan, Tom Davis from Mur­der in Suc­cessville. The fol­low­ing evening, Eng­land and Croa­tia met for the first time since that World Cup semi-fi­nal. Prior to kick-off, for­mer Eng­land full-back Glen John­son and le­gendary Eng­land crick­eter Mark Ram­prakash came by for a chat with Chris Hollins.
