THE TURNER TWINS ON BALANCING RISK AND ADVENTURE

-

The British brothers’ life of adventure was sparked by a near-fatal diving accident in their teens. The pair now take on tough challenges, raising funds and awareness for charities and medical research.

“Start young”, they advise, “and if you haven’t, start small. We did a crevasse rescue course in Chamonix which wasn’t polar training but there was a reason we didn’t go [straight] to Antarctica because it’s so vast. We listened to a Breitling talk with a pilot who said, ‘Don’t take the edges off the kitchen table for your little kids because they’ll learn.’ You know, you only get burnt once. We wouldn’t recommend that but start small and don’t be afraid to fail.”
