Esquire’s deputy style editor contributes two stories this issue. The first is a profile of the grooming brand Aesop, founded in Australia and now ubiquitous in every gentrified bohemian shopping district from Soho to SoHo. For that piece, Renwick travelled to Rome, where he witnessed the opening of a new store, designed by modish film director Luca Guadagnino. His second subject he found in the less salubrious surroundings of Finchley, north London. There he met a young man called “The Plug”, personal shopper to the stars of the Premier League.
