Esquire’s photo director and managing editor is responsible for ensuring that all images are of the highest possible quality, and also for making certain that we don’t spend too much money — two duties in direct opposition to each other. This issue, Manley presided over shoots from Gloucestershire to LA, all without leaving the office. (Except to go home.) Only she knows where the money goes.
