The Fifties’ Favourite

Rado champions horse power once more

For fans of mid-century design, few new watches will delight more than Rado’s reissue of the Golden Horse. The 2019 version of the 1957 original xeroxes everything — the same 37mm case, crimson and black ombré dial and case back detailing — but updates a couple of aspects. The glass is sapphire, not acrylic, and the movement is a modern ETA automatic. That said, if you fell through a wormhole to the Fifties, no-one would bat an eyelid. £1,500;
