AFTER 30 years of living in Deeside, Audrey and Bill Leiper were ready for a change. They loved bringing up their family in Bieldside and Milltimber, but the limitations of living outside of the city began to grate on the couple around six years ago. And they managed to find the best of both worlds at 15 Kings Gate, Aberdeen. “We were ready for the convenience of living in the city as we were fed up with taking a car everywhere,” said Audrey, a 61-year-old retired teacher. “As well as somewhere central so we could walk everywhere, we wanted somewhere quiet too. “When we found 15 Kings Gate we were delighted as its location is handy for Rosemount and town – and, once inside, it’s very peaceful.” When Audrey and Bill, a 64-year-old retired fish merchant, came to view the property, they found the traditional town house very imposing from the outside. However, the contrast with the inside astounded them. Audrey said: “From the imposing traditional building and hallway, the flat itself was modern and light which gave it a nice atmosphere.” And because the previous owner had renovated the property, it just needed their personal stamp. Another welcome surprise was the idyllic garden hidden from public view at the rear. “Through the French windows in the lounge and bedroom is a beautiful garden you’d never know about it,” said Audrey. “It was one of the main reasons we bought the
