Top acts sup­port kids’ char­ity at Gig for Gam­bia

Aberdeen’s Talk­ing Side­ways. Kick­ing off at 6.30pm, the event will see six of Aberdeen’s best-known singer-song­writ­ers take to the stage in sup­port of the Gam­bian Schools Trust. The night will fea­ture the tal­ents of Steven Winton, Ash­ley Park, Oliver Richards, Davy Shanks, Craig John David­son and Fox­hunt­ing. Or­gan­iser Emma Wright, a pri­mary ed­u­ca­tion stu­dent at the Univer­sity of Aberdeen, said: “Ed­u­ca­tion is one of my top pri­or­i­ties, and I want to raise as much money as pos­si­ble so that chil­dren in Gam­bia are able to go to school. I hope to be able to teach over there in my hol­i­days next year and see for my­self what the char­ity has achieved with the money raised by this gig.”
