Legally Blonde tops bill in new theatre pro­gramme “Plenty to choose from”

ABERDEEN theatre bosses are lay­ing down the law with a glit­ter­ing line-up of new shows – in­clud­ing a West End block­buster. it will run from De­cem­ber 5 to Christ­mas Eve and will be a per­fect foil to His Majesty’s panto Jack And The Beanstalk. The Lemon Tree also has an eclec­tic mix of mu­sic on of­fer, with ex-Mar­il­lion lead singer Fish tak­ing to the stage on Au­gust 27. And the upand-com­ing Emmy The Great will take to the stage on Septem­ber 22 with songs from her new­lyre­leased al­bum Virtue. Mu­sic is a strong con­tender at the Mu­sic Hall too in com­ing months. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers will be blend­ing bag­pipes and rock there on De­cem­ber 2, while Christ­mas With The Rat Pack swings in on De­cem­ber 18. In Jan­uary, The Sol­diers – real life ser­vice­men who have seen ac­tion in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait – will show why they have been chart hits when they sing in aid of army char­i­ties on Jan­uary 2. Dun­can said: “There is plenty to choose from but I am par­tic­u­larly look­ing for­ward to see­ing Elaine C Smith in I Dreamed A Dream, while Legally Blonde The Mu­si­cal is bound to be a big hit with Aberdeen au­di­ences. “We are very ex­cited about the up­com­ing line-up for our venues and we are look­ing for­ward to bring­ing these pro­duc­tions to our stages through the au­tumn and into 2012.” Tick­ets for shows an­nounced in the new brochure will go on sale to Friends of APA from Thurs­day, Au­gust 4, and to the gen­eral pub­lic a week later.
