Legally Blonde tops bill in new theatre programme “Plenty to choose from”

ABERDEEN theatre bosses are laying down the law with a glittering line-up of new shows – including a West End blockbuster. it will run from December 5 to Christmas Eve and will be a perfect foil to His Majesty’s panto Jack And The Beanstalk. The Lemon Tree also has an eclectic mix of music on offer, with ex-Marillion lead singer Fish taking to the stage on August 27. And the upand-coming Emmy The Great will take to the stage on September 22 with songs from her newlyreleased album Virtue. Music is a strong contender at the Music Hall too in coming months. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers will be blending bagpipes and rock there on December 2, while Christmas With The Rat Pack swings in on December 18. In January, The Soldiers – real life servicemen who have seen action in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait – will show why they have been chart hits when they sing in aid of army charities on January 2. Duncan said: “There is plenty to choose from but I am particularly looking forward to seeing Elaine C Smith in I Dreamed A Dream, while Legally Blonde The Musical is bound to be a big hit with Aberdeen audiences. “We are very excited about the upcoming line-up for our venues and we are looking forward to bringing these productions to our stages through the autumn and into 2012.” Tickets for shows announced in the new brochure will go on sale to Friends of APA from Thursday, August 4, and to the general public a week later.
