Man charged after foot­ball in­ci­dent

A MAN has been charged in con­nec­tion with an al­leged in­ci­dent at a foot­ball match. Po­lice to­day said that the 44-year-old, who comes from the Glas­gow area, has been charged fol­low­ing an al­leged in­ci­dent at a Scot­tish Premier­ship match be­tween Aberdeen and Rangers ear­lier this year. A Po­lice Scot­land spokes­woman said: “We can con­firm that a 44-year-old man from the Glas­gow area has been charged in re­la­tion to an al­leged cul­pa­ble and reck­less con­duct in­ci­dent. “It was re­ported to have oc­curred at Pit­to­drie dur­ing the match be­tween Aberdeen and Rangers on Au­gust 5 2018.” She added: “The man is ex­pected to ap­pear at Aberdeen Sher­iff Court at a later date.” Po­lice had yes­ter­day is­sued a na­tion­wide ap­peal for in­for­ma­tion about the in­ci­dent, in which a bot­tle was al­legedly thrown from the away sup­port­ers’ sec­tion of Pit­to­drie into the South Stand home sec­tion. No one was in­jured.
