Police hunt after attack outside shop
A MAN is recovering in hospital after being attacked outside a shop in Fraserburgh. The 30-year-old was walking close to the Co-op shop on Buchan Road at around 10.50pm on Thursday when he was assaulted. Police were called to the scene and were assisted by ambulance staff. Paramedics treated the man and he was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. It is understood his injuries are serious but not life-threatening and he was being kept under close observation yesterday. Detectives have launched an investigation. The assault happened shortly before the shop was due to close at 11pm. It is understood the Co-op is assisting police with inquiries and has checked CCTV to see if the incident was recorded. An area of Buchan Road was cordoned off by police on Thursday and yesterday was still closed. Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting incident number 4049 of November 29.
