Po­lice hunt af­ter at­tack out­side shop

A MAN is re­cov­er­ing in hos­pi­tal af­ter be­ing at­tacked out­side a shop in Fraser­burgh. The 30-year-old was walk­ing close to the Co-op shop on Buchan Road at around 10.50pm on Thurs­day when he was as­saulted. Po­lice were called to the scene and were as­sisted by am­bu­lance staff. Paramedics treated the man and he was taken to Aberdeen Royal In­fir­mary. It is un­der­stood his in­juries are se­ri­ous but not life-threat­en­ing and he was be­ing kept un­der close ob­ser­va­tion yes­ter­day. De­tec­tives have launched an in­ves­ti­ga­tion. The as­sault hap­pened shortly be­fore the shop was due to close at 11pm. It is un­der­stood the Co-op is as­sist­ing po­lice with in­quiries and has checked CCTV to see if the in­ci­dent was recorded. An area of Buchan Road was cor­doned off by po­lice on Thurs­day and yes­ter­day was still closed.
