Housing plans passed

Evening Express (City Final) - - News -

PLANS have been agreed to build more than 2,000 affordable homes in the north-east. Aberdeenshire Council’s Communities Committee passed the Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP) yesterday, which is predicted to cost £150 million. The proposal will now go before the Scottish Government, which will provide necessary funding, for approval. If approved at Holyrood, the plans would see 2,354 new affordable homes built. Communities committee chairwoman Cllr Anne Stirling said: “The delivery of affordable housing in Aberdeenshire has been a priority for us for a number of years, and our new SHIP will allow us to continue the work to meet demand.”
