Silver City festival set for launch
THE winners of the 2011 Aberdeen Artists’ Society exhibition have been announced.
The first prize of £5,000 was won by Stephen Shankland for his painting The Key, which Shell judges said was so vivid it came to life.
A free exhibition of the entries is open to the public until Monday, May 30, at Aberdeen Art Gallery. ABERDEEN’S month-long Granite Festival will be launched on Monday.
The opening event will feature a display of masonry techniques being used to restore Marischal College at Provost Skene's House.
Council curator for industry Jenny Brown said: “We have a full programme of talks, walks and events.”
