Talks on sale of store
NEGOTIATIONS were taking place today over the future of an Aberdeen store.
Fashion retailer Jane Norman went into administration earlier this week.
A d mi n i s t r a t o r s Z o l f o Cooper has already sold 33 of the firm’s 94 stores to Edinburgh Woollen Mill.
The move has secured 396 jobs from the company’s previous 1,600 employees.
A spokesperson for Zolfo Cooper said the store in Aberdeen’s St Nicholas Centre was one of 28 subject to further negotiation about a potential sale.
The remaining 33 outlets will be closed.
The Jane Norman concession at Debenhams in the Trinity Centre will continue to trade for the time being while a sale of the in-store outlets is arranged.
Alastair Beveridge, a partner at Zolfo Cooper, said: “Unfortunately, the sale has resulted in job losses, which we appreciate is difficult news for those involved.”
The past two weeks has seen a raft of high street names go into administration including Jane Norman, TJ Hughes, parts of Habitat and the Moben kitchen chain.
