PLANS have been put in for a ma­jor North-east flood de­fence scheme.

Aberdeen­shire Coun­cil wants to pro­tect Huntly by build­ing de­fences around the north of the Mead­ows in the town.

Coun­cil­lors on Marr area com­mit­tee will make a de­ci­sion on the plan­ning ap­pli­ca­tion in the com­ing weeks. A POWER cut knocked out elec­tric­ity to 300 prop­er­ties in the Rose­hill area of Aberdeen yes­ter­day.

Be­tween 1pm and 2.50pm a prob­lem with a trans­former caused the loss of power to homes and busi­nesses.
