Are they giving kids a sporting chance?

Evening Express (Extra Edition) - - FRANK GILFEATHER -

THE Lawn Tennis Association has been handed enough money over the years to free the debt of a Third World country. Why is it, then, that they have developed only one top-level star in Andy Murray, pictured. That’s assuming they can claim Murray as their product. The narrow approach by the LTA means youngsters taking up the sport must come from middle-class families who can afford to send their kids to lessons. Which is why we’ll see a major tournament winner from the UK only once in a

blue moon.
